Biography

Marie Genevieve Babin la Source, daughter of Pierre Babin de la Source and Francoise Jalotte, was born in 1715 at Mobile, Fort Condé, New France.[1]

She married Jacques Esnoul de Livaudais on 3 January 1733 at New Orleans, Louisiana. Their marriage was recorded at the St. Louis Church.[2] They had the following known children:

  2. Jeanne Francoise, bpt. 4 Oct 1746[4]
  3. Marie Adelaith, bpt. 5 Oct 1750[5]

She died on 23 June 1803 at New Orleans.[6]

Her death record gives her age as 88 in 1803 and states she was a native of Mobile. Her estimated birth from the death record is about 1715.[6]

Death

Marie Genevieve died at the age of 88 years, and was buried on 23 June 1803 at the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, in the second section of the nave of the chapel of the Most Holy Virgin.[6]
